Left to right: Trail Boss, ZR2, High Country
It feels like we have been waiting forever to see it.
Chevrolet has officially given us our first look at the redesigned 2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, and there is much more happening here than a new grille and a few fresh badges.
The next generation brings a tougher exterior, a completely reworked interior and new technology throughout the lineup. From a comfortable daily driver to a work truck, tow vehicle or weekend trail machine, the Silverado remains built for the many different ways truck owners put their vehicles to work.
For drivers in Miramichi and throughout northeastern New Brunswick, it is an early look at a truck that should feel equally at home hauling equipment, towing the boat or heading down a backroad for the weekend.

The 2027 Silverado has been redesigned from front to back, but Chevrolet has not forgotten what made the truck recognizable in the first place.
It still has the strong, upright stance Silverado owners expect, now paired with more sculpted bodywork, updated lighting and distinctive front-end treatments across the lineup.
At the rear, redesigned vertical taillights create a more modern look, while practical Silverado touches such as the CornerStep rear bumper remain.
Each model brings its own personality.
The High Country takes a more polished and premium approach.
The Trail Boss adds factory-equipped off-road capability and a tougher appearance.
The ZR2 sits at the top of the off-road lineup with larger tires, specialized suspension equipment and a design that looks ready to leave the pavement behind.
2027 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2
The biggest change may be what Chevrolet has done inside the truck.
The 2027 Silverado introduces an entirely redesigned dashboard centred around a large 16.3-inch infotainment display and a 12.2-inch digital driver display.
High Country and ZR2 models are also expected to include an 11.5-inch front-passenger display, creating more than 60 inches of available digital display area throughout the cabin.
Thankfully, Chevrolet has also kept physical controls for frequently used functions. Climate settings, towing controls and four-wheel-drive selections should remain easy to reach without having to search through an endless touchscreen menu.
Depending on the trim, available interior technology is expected to include:
It is a major step forward, but it still looks like a truck interior designed to be used with work gloves, winter mittens and muddy boots nearby.
The ZR2 and High Country have a head-up display, a digital rearview mirror, and an 11.5-inch front-passenger screen.
Chevrolet has confirmed that the next-generation Silverado will usher in a new era of small-block V8 performance, while familiar TurboMax and Duramax options are expected to remain part of the lineup.
Final Canadian power, torque, towing, payload and fuel-economy figures have not yet been released. The new V8 engines are expected to emphasize improved torque, towing performance, efficiency and long-term durability.
Reported powertrain options include:
The new Silverado appears to put technology where truck owners can actually use it.
Depending on the model and configuration, available features are expected to include:
Available Super Cruise technology is also expected to support hands-free driving while towing on compatible roads.
Production of the redesigned Silverado is expected to begin later in 2026, with dealership arrivals anticipated toward the end of the year.
